Electronic Dynamic Lock

Dynamic locking completely eliminates misuse of your telephone by others. It prevents unauthorized calls from your telephone.This is completely foolproof. It is a system by which a subscriber can lock / unlock outgoing calls on his telephone.

It works on a four digit secret code selected by the subscriber from the digits 0 to 9. This code is registered with the exchange and used for opening and locking the dynamic lock on your telephone line. This code can be changed by the subscriber as often as he needs

The various options are

  • All Outgoing Calls allowed
  • Only Local Outgoing calls allowed
  • Only STD & Local Outgoing calls allowed
  • All Outgoing calls barred

CLIP

 This facility enables customer to know the telephone number of the calling person and there by allows him to keep track of any unwanted calls. Also based on preference he can either attend or not attend the phone. CLIP facility is provided absolutely free of Charge. Customer has to purchase CLIP enabled Phone to enjoy CLIP facility.

Where to Apply: No need to apply, its activated by default.

Call Forwarding

This Facility enables the subscriber to Transfer or Forward incoming calls to another telephone number, when he is not available to receive calls on his Telephone. Customer can leave his office or Home without having to miss important incoming calls.

Request for the facility has to made in the nearest CSC or by dialing 1500(Toll Free).

How to activateOnce the facility is registered, customer can activate the facility by dialing 114 followed by the number to which the incoming call is to be transferred.

Deactivation or Cancellation: Customer has to Dial 115

Reminder Call

This Facility enables customer to get reminded/waken up at a predetermined time. User of the telephone can initiate a call automatically by the exchange at a fixed time specified by him. He will get an incoming call at the exact time specified by him to wake him up or remind.

How to Register:

To be reminded at say 10.15 AM, he has to Dial 116 1015 and wait for acceptance announcement. Similarly, for registering a reminder call for 04:30 PM, Dial 116 1630 and wait for acceptance announcement.

For Cancellation: Dial 117  1015

Two local calls charged on each occasion.

Abbreviated Dialing

This facility enables customer to have his own two digit code for frequently called telephone numbers. Convenient and faster dialing especially for NSD and ISD calls. With this facility the subscriber can assign a 2 digit code to often dialled numbers.

Activation:  Dial 110 AB telephone number

AB : 2-digit code

Thereafter, to call that telephone number just press 111AB.

Where to Apply: No need to apply, as this facility is already provided to all customers.

Hotline

HOTLINE facility adds great convenience by avoiding to dial the full number which the subscriber needs to call very frequently. It is a boon for an aged parent or a relative or a very young child back home, who might find it difficult to remember and dial a long number.

This facility enables the customer to get connected to another telephone number of his choice either at Mumbai or any other outstation without dialing the telephone number.  Customer has to just lift his receiver, wait for 5 seconds and he will be connected automatically to the HOTLINE number.

To make call other than the HOTLINE number customer has to dial within 5 seconds of getting dial tone.

Call Charges

Once the hotline number is connected the call will be charged as per a normal call (Local, NSD, or ISD, as the case may be).

Tariff for Hotlines between two customners connected by R- circuits:-

1)To provide immediate hotline facility between two subscribers, allowing them to make any number of calls between them & barring them to make any calls to any other subscribers.

This facility will be called R-7 circuit and the request for these circuits will be registered,provided and billed bye EN unit of MTNL.

Connectivity between two points through R-7 circuits will be provided through pubilic domain trunk links as against R-5 circuits where higher link availability is ensured through provision of dedicated links.

2) Billing of the R-7 circuits will be done by EN unit and minimum of one year rental will be payabel in advance before provisioning the facility with minimum hiring period for the circuit as one year. Subsequently, billing for R-7 circuits will be done on annual basis or on half yearly,quarterly basis as is done for the other circuits provided bye EN unit, as per customers request.

The charges for new R-7 circuit will be monthly rent of Rs.220+taxes for each end(i.e. Rs. 220X2X12+taxes).

The total installation charges for both the ends is Rs. 700/-

3)Conversion of existing R-5 circuits to R-7 circuits is permitted if subscriber desires so; on receipt of written request from subscriber and no installation charges will be applicable.

Call Hunting

If a subscriber is having more than one line, Call hunting facility, helps him to use the lines effectively. This facility automatically transfers your incoming call to a free line. Subscribers need not indicate numerous numbers of their organisation on their visiting card or business letters. Principal number need only be indicated or printed.

By availing the call hunting facility for a group of numbers of an organization, If the principal number is dialed, the exchange will automatically hunt for a free number in the same group and the incoming call will land on the free number.

Call Alert

Call Alert facility alerts the subscriber of another incoming call on his telephone while he is already in conversation. This facility allows the subscriber to take the second call keeping the first party on hold.

Activation: Dial "118" to activate the service.

Deactivation: Dial "119" to deactivate the service.

Where to Apply:

No need to apply, as this facility is already provided to all customers.

 

Three Party Conference

Three Party Conferencing is a service that allows you to dial two numbers simultaneously, thus enabling all 3 parties, i.e. the two called numbers andyou, to conference at the same time.

MTNL PCO

How to get

The procedure for allotment of STD/ISD/Local PCOs is as follows:

  •  STD/ISD and Local PCO forms are free of charge. PCO applications are to be submitted at CSCs.
  •  For local PCOs Security Deposit has been reduced to Rs.500/- w.e.f. 01.09.2006. So, now PCOs are to be provided after taking an individual Security Deposit of Rs. 500/- in case of Local PCOs & Rs. 2000/- for STD/ISD PCOs by Demand Draft or cash. PCOs will be approved on the spot by the CSC and issue Demand Note/Work orders across the counter.
  • PCO Booth arrangements are to be made by the PCO holder.
  •  In case of STD/ISD or Local PCO, the applicant should submit following documents along with the application.

              (The Applicant will submit self-attested Photocopy of the documents along with originals, for                                        on the Spot verification & return)

     (a)  Proof of Identity & Age-Any one of the following documents 

  1. Voter's Photo Identity Card.
  2. Driving Licence
  3. PAN Card issued by Income Tax authorities.
  4. Pass Port
  5. Ration Card

       (b) Attestation of signature of the applicant by his/her Banker (original only).

  • The security deposit to be reviewed and raised by AO(TR) depending on the billing pattern as per the practice.
  • No need to execute any PCO agreement with the franchisee.However the applicant should give an undertaking in the enclosed proforma. No stamp paper is required for the undertaking.
  •  QCSC counter clerk will verify the documents with originals and certify the verification on Photocopies under his/her Signature, Name ,Staff No. and Designation. Once the documents are verified Counter-Person will take the required deposit in Cash or by Draft & issue work order. The payments recieved will be sent to AO (Cash) daily. In case documents are not complete, the counter person will politely inform about the necessary documents required for the application.
  •  There is no limit on maximum number of PCOs at a place. Any number of PCOs can be provided at one place. However in case of bulk booking of 10 or more PCOs, Area GMs and Vigilance Units are to be intimated as per DOT instructions.
  •  Additional PCO on request will be provided through similar procedure mentioned above by taking a deposit of Rs. 2000/- per additional STD PCO and Rs. 500/- for Local PCO. The revenue of existing STD/Local PCO need not be taken into account for additional PCOs.
  • On issue of work order , SDE External of the area will visit the premises & confirm accessibility of the premises to the public, availability of prescribed TEC approved Charging Device for STD PCO and CCB PCO instrument for Local PCO will be put through after completion of these formalities.

Get Additional PCO

PCO holder

  •  PCO holder need not pay installation charge and security deposit.
  •  There will not be any minimum guarantee to be collected from this additional PCO.
  • This PCO will be either Local, HPCO, All India CCB PCO or STD/ISD PCO and will be linked to the existing PCO.
  •  This facility will be extended to the PCO holders who opts this and there should not be any outstanding arrears against such PCO holders.
  •  This additional PCO will be linked to the main PCO and will work as long as the main PCO works and will be disconnected as and when the main PCO is surrendered or recovered.
  • There is no change in the commission structure and billing period.
  • This facility will not be applicable for the PCOs where there is an outstanding.

Handicapped PCO

  • The Commission for local Handicapped PCOs is effective from 01.09.2007
  •  Relaxation to additional number of PCOs to the same handicapped PCO holder.
  •  The revenue / call limit of the existing PCO need not be taken into account for provision of additional PCO ( as in case of other local PCO holder) without security deposit.
  •  Faulty instrument has to be replaced free of cost for HPCO.
  •  This is effective from 10.06.2005.

Other Facilities

Transfer of Telephone

  • It means a change in the name of the subscriber, in case of individual or change in name /constitution ownership in the case of company/organization/institution.
  • Event necessitating the transfer of a telephone.Change of name taking place voluntarily or due to marriage
    • Change in name/constitution of firm, companies, organization, institution, etc. 
    • Sale of dissolution of the firm
    • Death of the hirer.

 

The application for transfer (on prescribed forms) should be made within one year from the date of the event and is to be submitted to CSC of your area.

 

Can also be transferred to Blood Relation Transfer fee: Rs. 100
Can also be transferred to the third party after one year of installation Transfer Fee: 500

Shifting of Telephone

Internal Shift
When a telephone is shifted from one position to another in the same room it is known as an internal shift. 

External Shifts

When a telephone is shifted from one room to another or from one building to another building in the same locality or different locality, it is called an external shift.


 

External shifts are of the following types

Shifting of a telephone on All -India basis

Shifting Charges

  1. Shifts Within the same exchange area.
  2. Shifts from one exchange area to another exchange area in a multi-exchange system.
  3. All India Shift.

A telephone can be shifted on an All-India basis as per the conditions existing for shifting of telephones within the Multi exchange area. The application form (free of charge) can be obtained from the Area G.M's office/Shift Officer of Area on-demand and the completed form is to submit to the CSC of the area from where the telephone is to be shifted.

a)From one position to another in the same room, Nil
b)In all other cases of local shift   Rs.100
In the case of (b) a rebate of Rs. 300 is allowed if the subscriber arranges own internal wiring.

 

 

Use of Phone by Tenant

  • Permissible will be sent in the name of the tenant. Correspondence entertained with the landlord. Landlord to give an undertaking for the responsibility of payment of all telephone dues. Prescribed forms are available at MTNL Customer Service Centers.
  • The permission fee is Rs. 100.

 


Safe Custody

  


     Short Term safe custody

  • Safe Custody from 7 days to 90 days
  • Cable pair & telephone number will be reserved.
  • Restoration will be as per the customer's request.
  • The reconnection fee is Rs.100/- will be charged at the time of reconnection.
     

 


Long Term safe Custody

  • Safe Custody for long-duration beyond 90 days.
  • Cable pair & telephone number will not be reserved.
  • .Restoration will be as per customer's request.
  • The reconnection fee is Rs.100/- will be charged at the time of reconnection.
